TWTD Benders Vs. AFC Wimbledon - League Cup Preliminary match

In a peculiar match, TWTD were away to AFC Wimbledon in the only League Cup preliminary match. With TWTD expected to win comfortably in their first professional game, the stakes were high. Also with it being a knockout competition, losing was not an option.

The first 15 minutes of the match saw lots of possession but no shots from either side. Some good build up play from the midfielders ended with Balotelli playing in Dubtractor running in from the right wing, who shot near post. The keeper parried and the ball was swiftly cleared.

With the Benders having 70% of the possession, it looked like all that was needed was a bit more urgency. A flighted ball in from Del Cottinho on the 29th minute found Dubtractor who headed lamely at the Keeper.

A few minutes later Cottinho put in a great corner, with Sitters hitting the cross bar dead on before the ball went out of play, a goal now seeming certain to come.

Just before half time, Bontcho put in a great free kick 30 yards out from the left which found Sitters who again powered a header against the bar.

At half time, it seemed that TWTD were in no danger of losing but needed to be clinical in front of goal. With this being the case, the attacking abilities of Ken o'Blue and Mullet were brought on.

Straight from the kick off Dubtractor ran down the right hand side and put in a lovely ball for Balotelli who hit just over the bar from inside the box.

A few minutes later a clearance from an AFC Wimbledon corner found Balotelli nearly through on goal but his shot was straight at the keeper and easily dealt with.

57 minutes in and AFC Wimbledon were finally broken. o'Blue passed to Mullet inside who played a lovely ball to Balotelli. Balotelli was through on goal slotting in near post to make the score 1-0 after mountains of possession and chances.

TWTD continued their dominance once more, 65 minutes a poor clearance from AFC allowed Streakers to play in a lovely ball although Balotelli was unable to get on the end of it and the Keeper collected.

With 70 minutes gone, Dubtractor played a lovely free kick into the box from the right, finding the head of O'Blue whose header was parried over by Brown.

With 77 minutes gone, Dr Green thumb fired in a decent shot from outside the area but it fizzled wide.

From the resulting goal kick, Marx headed long to Balotelli whose burst of pace outwitted the back line. In an almost identical position for the first goal, he shot almost identically with the result identical, Balotelli grabbing a second for 2-0.

A rare AFC attack then ended in a goal, somewhat undeservedly. A decent ball into Moore took multiple deflections,. mainly off Sitters' ears, and was put beyond Barnes' hands for 2-1.

The game started to get a bit scrappier with both teams tiring, but in the 90th minute Mullet played a lovely ball in for Dubtractor who was fouled by Gwillim. The resulting free kick found the head of Sitters who unfortunately failed to convert once again.

The full time whistle was blown and TWTD picked up the victory although the scoreline did not reflect the Benders complete dominance over a poor AFC side.

Germand Third Divison - Wehen Vs. Ze TWTD

Ze TWTD Benders Vs. Wehen

With TractorBlue99 and Randy McHumBug on international duty and Kiev and Joey Joe out with injury, Bender was without four players who had performed well in pre-season

Both teams were looking to get points on the board in their first game of the season, and for Ze TWTD, their first ever professional game.

Played at the Brita-Arena, Wehen were considered the favourites.

2 minutes in and an a good attack down the right between Scotland and Van Harban before Van Harban hit the side net.

Ze TWTD continued the pressure and in the 20th minute they earned a corner. Peckster put in a great corner which Bojangles headed in nicely to put TWTD 1-0 up.

Two minutes later and a great solo run for Van Harban almost resulted in a goal before he shot over.

Thirty minutes in and TractorBoy24 nearly chipped the chipper from 30 yards out before the Keeper scrambled back to catch it.

Just before the 40 minute mark, Wehen had a chance to level things up with their first shot, but a complete slice was kicked harmlessly out of the box.

Which half time quickly approaching, a great through ball was put through for by Van Harban Scotland, but was put over despite being in acres of space albeit it from a tight angle.

At half time the score was still 1-0, with TWTD dominating the half and really should have been at least 2-0 up. Bender chnaged things about with some tired players coming off, Chopper and Alonso coming on for Lamby95 and Gavlar.

First chance of the second half again from a corner for Ze TWTD as another corner by Peckster found the head of Bojangles, but it was straight at the Keeper.

The next chance was again from a corner from Peckster which met the head of JITC, hitting the underside of the crossbar, the keeper before finally going in, going down as an own goal.

On the 72nd minute, Alonso shot just over from 30 yards.

Corners continued to threaten and at 75 minutes, a corner was headed back out to Peckster. He darted inside the box and crossed to the back post and found Van Harban, who headed in for 3-0.

No guesses as for what happened for the next goal as once again a corner from Peckster from JITC who headed home for 4-0.

A goal nearly came from some nice build up play around the box, before Van Harban hit the side netting. A few minutes later, Van Harban ran down the right, passed inside to Scotland who knocked it back to Alonso. Another long shot from him went just over.

At the full time whistle Ze TWTD had won 4-0 on their debut, Big Dave JITC getting the MoM for his goal and assist. Wehen rarely threatened and only managed two shots all game. 3 points on the board and overall a good showing for Ze TWTD

TWTD Preseason Friendlies

With preseason well under way, the TWTD Benders of England drew AFC Wimbledon in the League Cup preliminary round.

Over at Ze TWTD, a friendly took place with Aviron Bayonnais. Whilst Ze TWTD dominated the shots and possession, they were unable to capitalise with the match ending in 2-2.

Meanwhile over at TWTD England, they got a very good win over Coventry, Luigi Balotelli grabbing the brace. Coventry manager Thorn came out after the game, criticising the league 2 minnows for trying to pass the ball into the back of the net, despite winning the game.

Edit 1:

Ze TWTD certainly don't need improvements this time, smashing Dunkerque 7-2

Meanwhile The TWTD Benders continue their good early form by beating Scunthorpe away 1-0.

Edit 2

Ze TWTD continued to pile in the goals, winning 6-0 against French side GF 38.

Over in England, the TWTD Benders are selling a large amount of season tickets, with sales expected to reach over 15,000 before the start of the season. Their friendly was away to Newry City, a Northern Ireland First Division team. The match ended with Newry getting an 8-0 thumping.

Edit 3:

Ze TWTD finally faced a tougher opponent in German side Union Berlin, but kept up their good form with a 2-0 victory, Gavlar and BB getting the goals. The only negative to take from the game was a 4 week injury to KievTheGreat. This was the be the last game in Ze TWTD's pre-season, with the German Third Division scheduled to start in a week's time.

Mean while over in the TWTD England camp, the pre-season continued to be successful, if rather low scoring, with a 2-0 win over northern monkeys :Leeds Utd. Balotelli continued to impress whilst captain Sitters grabbed a goal and MoM after finally finding his shoes.

Karma also caught up with Gav, who is out injured for 5 weeks after pulling a muscle during a sprint.

Edit 4:
Another win, this time conceding a goal in a match between Leyton Orient and TWTD although TWTD still came out on top with a 2-1 win.

Note: I've let the assistant manager take over the friendlies as they take a complete age so don't blame me if you're not picked, blame Warky!
